A group at COP29 in Azerbaijan is raising concerns about food labeling accuracy at the conference. Several dishes labeled as vegan were discovered to contain animal products. According to Shreya Ghodawat, staff at the venue claimed they used incorrect labels due to a shortage of proper cards for non-vegan options. However, a closer look at the menu revealed that labeling errors were already present.
PlantBased Treaty, which highlighted the issue in a viral post with over 3,000 likes, emphasized the importance of providing delegates with clear and accurate information about their food, including its environmental impact. They called on COP29 organizers to address the matter promptly.
