Humans have been on Earth for millions of years and since then we’ve learned a ton about the animals around us. However, there’s still one place on this planet that we know very little about, the ocean.
Even with our fancy submarines and scuba gear, the beautiful creatures of the deep are still a mystery. Luckily, most of them like to put on a show for us surface dwellers every once in a while!
The three orca whales in this video were spotted near Moss Landing, CA by Blue Ocean Whale Watch. We can only guess what they’re doing, but they say that the baby on the far left had some food in its mouth, so maybe they decided to take the scenic route back to the rest of their pod.
This is truly the best way to enjoy marine animals, on their own terms in the wild. Unfortunately, marine parks and aquariums make us think that the only way to experience orcas in captivity.
