Mascots for sport teams can be huge. They are usually overdramatized or very simple characters used to boost morale and get the crowd going. They’ll also usually represented by one poor employee in a stinky, heavy and hot costume. However, the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team may be taking a new direction with their mascot representation and his name is Hank.

Hank is a stray dog that recently wandered into the Brewer’s spring training facility in Arizona. He may have wandered in for some food but he immediately stole the hearts of everyone in the facility. After being taken to the vet for his vaccinations and a bath, Hank became the new unofficial mascot of the Brewers.

Appropriately named after Hank Aaron, he has quickly gained full reign over all areas of the training facility. He visits players on the field, takes trips to the souvenir shop to get his latest Brewers uniform and is just a happy greeter to all who work with the Brewers in Arizona.

He currently goes home with a different Brewers’s staff member every night, insuring he has a warm bed to sleep in. Although there’s no word on whether Hank will continue to be the team’s unofficial mascot when they return to Milwaukee for the regular season, the team has guaranteed that Hank’s days as a stray dog are over and he will be well taken care of.

Whether Hank gets an official position as team mascot or just finds a wonderful, loving forever home, kudos to the Milwaukee Brewers for taking him in. Hank is the type of animal mascot you would want for any team. Plus, not many wear the uniform better than adorable Hank!
