Electronic devices have become an integral part of our lives, allowing us to easily communicate, work, and access information. However, this convenience comes at a high cost to the environment, as electronic waste (e-waste) has become a growing problem worldwide. E-waste produces tonnes of toxic waste each year, with little thought given to its afterlife. Recycling is the last loop of the circular economy, but it still needs to undo the harm of manufacturing in the first place fully. Designers must figure out how to create products that are both beautiful and can endure far longer. Tech companies must make recyclability essential to devices. Companies are responsible for facilitating more viable reuse of products and liberating functional components and valuable materials so that they continue to provide economic value in a circular economy.

E-waste is a growing problem that requires immediate attention from stakeholders worldwide. Consumers, tech giants, and governmental bodies all bear some responsibility and must be held accountable. With increased education, improved designs, and upgraded infrastructure, we can work towards a more sustainable future for ourselves and future generations.
