Stray Rescue of St. Louis was founded in 1998 by Randy Grimm, who has long been an advocate for abandoned and feral animals, having rescued thousands of street dogs throughout the years. Now, Stray Rescue of St. Louis has over 300 foster parents, more than 1,000 volunteers and on average saves and adopts out 3,000 companion animals a year.
Just recently, Grimm rescued a sweet girl who sadly had been shot in the back. It seems like a neighbor called Stray Rescue of St. Louis and alerted the group about the abandoned dog, who was in terrible pain. Despite being emaciated and having a fresh bullet wound on her back, the dog couldn’t help but kiss Grimm and happily wag her tail when he arrived!
Grimm named the dog Jennifer, in honor of the kind woman who called and is taking the dog straight to the vet’s for x-rays to see if the bullet has done any serious damage. Wishing you the best, Jennifer!
