Doodle Hopper, one of the long-timers at Stray Rescue of St. Louis, has just become the hero of the most incredible story. The dog was on his morning walk with his shelter caretakers, nothing out of the usual, when he was spotted by a man. As it soon turned out, it was not just any passerby that happened to be in the right place and at the right time. The man noticed Doodle immediately and was astounded by how much the pup looked like the dog that he used to have. Then came the biggest surprise of all – Doodle was not actually his dog’s doppelganger but … the lost dog himself!
Over a year ago, the two were separated because of a series of unfortunate events. When the man came to the rescue with photos of his beloved dog, Doodle Hopper recognized his old friend and caregiver right away and “melted into a puddle of happiness.” The rescuers had no doubt that the dog, who usually required at least a few meeting with new people to warm to them, was finally reunited with his human!
Now, after the unbelievable turn of events that left no one at the rescue unmoved, Doodle and his dad are together again – this time forever.
