All too often, the stories of homeless senior dogs end in tragedy … hut here’s one that will gladden your heart! This video portrays the rescue of beautiful Rudolph, an injured, elderly stray dog who was saved from his hard life on the streets by Hope for Paws.
He was found living on a freeway off-ramp, with a badly hurt leg. When rescuers initially approached him, he was asleep, so they had to move very slowly and quietly. After a brief struggle – during which Rudolph, unfortunately, bit his tongue – he realized that the Hope for Paws staff were aiming to help him.
It was not long before every human he met fell under his spell, especially when he began to open up enough to trust them with “his warm, gentle smile.” He is currently in the care of Lionel’s Legacy – a non-profit senior dog rescue group – and is seeking a forever home.
