More than 85 leading climate scientists have pushed back against a recent U.S. Energy Department report that downplays the severity of Global warming. According to Reuters, the expert group said the report, produced by a small team of contrarian scientists handpicked by Energy Secretary Chris Wright, “fails to adequately represent the current scientific understanding of Climate change.”

ecosystems across the Earth.

Critics say the Energy Department’s assessment isn’t just scientifically weak—it appears to have been designed to justify rolling back greenhouse gas regulations. Andra Garner, a climate scientist who joined the review, noted that the report elevated outdated dissenting opinions instead of the broad consensus of the scientific community.

This kind of manipulation matters. Fossil fuel interests and deregulation policies may buy time for polluters, but the cost is borne by people, animals, and the planet’s health. From droughts and deadly heatwaves to disappearing habitats, ignoring the scientific consensus leaves communities and ecosystems dangerously exposed.

The debate comes at a moment when more people are embracing plant-based lifestyles, clean energy, and sustainable choices to reduce their own environmental impact. But experts stress that personal action must go hand-in-hand with strong climate policy guided by real science—not politically motivated misinformation.

The truth is simple: Climate change is here, it’s driven by fossil fuels, and it threatens the balance of life on earth. Listening to science, not spin, is the only way forward. Choosing renewable energy, supporting plant-based food systems, and pushing for stronger protections can help turn the tide.
