Rescuers Couldn’t Even Identify Her Breed, Now this Sweet Pit Bull Has a New Home!

When a pup named GlowUp arrived at the Richmond Animal League from an animal control partner, rescuers could not even determine the pup’s breed. GlowUp was suffering from such a bad case of mange that had caused severe inflammation. Due to this, the rescue staff initially thought that she was a Shar Pei. Eventually, with some kind care and medical treatment, it was discovered that GlowUp is a Pit Bull mix.

Ms. Glowup was transferred to us from one of our animal control partners so she can get the treatment she needs for her skin. She also has entropion and a heart murmur. #richmondanimalleague #sheltermedicine #demodex #shelterdog #adoptadog

During her stay at the Richmond Animal League, it was also discovered that GlowUp had a few other (manageable) health issues. These included a heart murmur. Luckily, the pup had ended up at a no-kill shelter that was dedicated to ensuring she got the care that she deserved.

Eventually, GlowUp found a forever home. Now, she enjoys spending time with her human and playing with other pups as part of the Richmond Animal League Running Club.
