The sad sight of puppies being sold in pet stores, kept in tiny cages like guinea pigs, is, unfortunately, no longer new – but now it turns out that there are people who take the trend of selling dogs out of cages even further and think it a good idea to do it at events like … reptile exhibits.
Rescue Dogs Rock NYC has recently received information about two puppies being sold at a reptile show in Irmo, South Carolina. The puppies were exhibited in the “venomous” section. In the extreme heat, they were kept in a cage without access to water. The rescuers, worried that the puppies might end up as food for other animals and were determined to get to the dogs as soon as possible, but the exhibition was closed before they could get there.
The puppies were incredibly lucky to be encountered by good people who alarmed the rescuers who saved them from the terrible conditions they were kept in before it was too late. Now they are at the start of their road to recovery which, hopefully, will come very quickly for the young pups, so that they can find the best home possible and a lot of love as soon as possible.
