President Joe Biden campaigned on protecting the environment and addressing Climate change but still has not officially declared a climate emergency. That’s even though the planet is entering its sixth Mass Extinction event and we are hurtling towards the point of no return for global temperature rise. This is why declaring a climate emergency is so important: it would provide substantially increased authority to tackle carbon emissions and Global warming.
