Joe Rogan has promoted dangerous misinformation on his popular Spotify podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience.” With over 11 million listeners, he has an enormous amount of influence, which is why it is so important that he is sharing accurate, scientific information with the world.
While he has the chance to promote the safety, efficacy, and importance of COVID-19 vaccines, he is under scrutiny for promoting misinformation and rumors to his audience. He’s interviewed COVID-deniers and anti-vaxxers on his podcast, allowing them the chance to spread fear and falsehoods.
During a more recent episode, Rogan featured a discredited doctor who had previously been banned from Twitter for spreading misinformation about COVID-19. Science has proven that vaccines are vitally important in the fight against COVID-19. In a recent study, vaccines were estimated to have prevented “1.1 million hospitalizations and halted 14 million infections, showing that more than 338 million doses had a powerful effect.”
On his podcast, Rogan also promoted taking ivermectin to treat Covid-19 symptoms, despite the fact that there is not enough evidence to Support its effectiveness for treating Covid-19. To make matters worse, consuming ivermectin has been shown to lead to side effects such as dizziness and uncontrolled vomiting. The FDA has not authorized or approved ivermectin for use in preventing or treating COVID-19 in humans or animals, and they have stated that ingesting it in large doses is dangerous.

In Rogan’s recent Instagram video, he responded to the scrutiny by saying, “Maybe try harder to get people with differing opinions on right afterward — I do think that’s important, and do my best to make sure I’ve researched these topics, the controversial ones in particular, and have all the pertinent facts at hand before I discuss them.”
If Rogan continues to spread false information, it can potentially have life-threatening consequences for both unvaccinated people and the people they will spread disease to. Sign this petition to demand that Spotify kick Joe Rogan off its service now!
