Recently, we brought you the story of Skidmark, a kitten who fell out of the bottom of a car in the middle of an intersection during peak rush hour traffic. Luckily, Skidmark was rescued by a kind animal lover who sprung into action on her motorcycle before he could be hit by a car.
Skidmark and his new guardian’s relationship might have gotten off to an odd and scary start, but we can see that he’s doing swimmingly in this update! Seeing this happy kitty safe and warm after suffering from such trauma just fills our hearts to the brim.
As the weather turns cooler, it is important to keep the story of Skidmark in mind. Stray kittens often hide under the hoods of cars to keep warm, but if the car is turned on, they can be burned by the engine, get injured by the moving mechanisms of the car, or fall out mid-drive and end up in the road like Skidmark. If you live in an area with a lot of stray cats, be sure to tap on the hood before setting off in the winter time. You never know who might be in there!
