Trying to rescue a homeless dog can be a challenging mission. After years of living on the streets without knowing the comfort of a warm bed or any kindness from humans, homeless dogs can be extremely wary of people.

This was the case for Zuzi the dog. She had spent an entire winter living on the streets with no shelter or proper food to eat. Local dog catchers tried multiple times to wrangle her using catch poles and other aggressive methods to no avail. The trauma of this experience compounded by living on the streets caused Zuzi to act out aggressively when rescuers from Howl of a Dog came to help her.

When Howl of a Dog rescuers finally got Zuzi back to their rescue facility and set her up with a bed and lots of treats, she began to transform into a whole new dog! It’s amazing what a little kindness can do; sweet Zuzi is now up for adoption. To learn more, click here.
