At a vibrant ceremony in Singapore, the prince echoed hope amid the climate crisis, emphasizing the critical decade ahead for taking collective action for the planet. Dressed in his decade-old Alexander McQueen blazer, symbolizing sustainability, he inspired optimism and courage to become “architects of change.”
The Earthshot Prize, inspired by John F. Kennedy’s ambitious Moonshot challenge, champions those who refuse to succumb to defeatism in the face of environmental decline. The prince’s message was clear: this decade will be remembered for unified action toward a healthy and sustainable world.
Among the winners is GRST, which is reshaping the electric vehicle industry with a cleaner approach to lithium-ion battery production and recycling. Other laureates include the WildAid Marine program combatting illegal fishing, S4S Technologies’ solar-powered solutions for farmers, Boomitra’s carbon credit marketplace aiding land restoration, and Accion Andina’s initiative to protect the Andes’ native forests.
Each Earthshot winner receives not only financial Support but also a year-long mentorship through the Earthshot Prize fellowship, designed to accelerate their projects’ impact.
Sir David Attenborough, part of the Earthshot Prize Council, reminded us via video that responsible and fulfilling living on our planet is within reach, celebrating the leaders who are paving the way to this brighter future. This year’s Earthshot Prize winners stand as beacons of hope, showing the world that with innovation and dedication, a greener future is possible.
