Designing a wheelchair for this special doggie, the aptly named Joy, was a complicated task. Joy injured her spinal cord when she was a puppy and now has no control over her hind legs. But not even that could dampen this dog’s spirit.
Look at her go! She doesn’t let a disability like this hold her back at all. She can get around alright with her front paws, but Joy’s humans didn’t want to stop her there. So they got her this very special wheelchair. With it, she can run! But the awesomeness doesn’t stop there. She can even go for a swim thanks to special flotation devices attached to her wheelchair. Now the fun doesn’t stop when she reaches the water’s edge, she can plunge right in there with the other dogs.
We’re so happy for Joy and so proud of her pet parents for making this possible for her! They are real Green Monsters!
As a mom to two beautiful and loving golden retrievers, this video made me cry. Joy\’s eyes showed how happy she was once she was able to run and swim. What a beautiful relationship and years of love you will all have. Enjoy your baby with love and best wishes.
