Dog Goes From Living on the Streets to Being a Cherished Member of a Family (VIDEO)

This is Concho, a dog who was rescued from the streets of Juarez, Mexico. Concho is one of the lucky few who will now have a safe, warm, and loving place to call home this holiday season. Thanks to the efforts of Compassion Without Borders, he now lives with a wonderful family in Bodega that reminds him every day of how special he is. With the holidays officially here and many people looking at the notion of adopting a new furry family member, please remember that adopting a dog is a serious commitment. Many pets adopted for the holidays end up being returned to the shelter by the time Valentine’s Day rolls around. Pets should be treated with the same love, respect, and care as any other member of the family. When a dog is abandoned, whether on the streets or at a shelter, it affects not only that dog in ways you can’t imagine, but also other dogs awaiting a home and even the shelter workers and rescues themselves, emotionally and financially.
