We are so excited to see the beautiful Champ up and moving around! We have been monitoring his journey after he was rescued by Rescue Dogs Rock last week. They took Champ from an awful woman who thought it was okay to chain him up and starve him to death to get back at an ex-boyfriend.
Champ has captured the hearts of many people wanting to wish him well and raise awareness of his plight. He now even has his own Facebook page called Justice for Champ, where you can follow his progress and keep up to date with news on the prosecution of the person who did this to him. She has since been charged with ill-treatment of an animal, and we hope she feels the full force of that prosecution.
16-month-old Champ has a long recovery ahead of him. He needs daily therapy because his muscles have atrophied, as well as all the other treatments necessary to get him properly hydrated and back to the right weight for a dog of his size. Rescue Dogs Rock is giving their all to help Champ get better, and kind donors so far have raised over $4,700 towards his vital medical care. We wish you well, Champ, and we can’t wait to see you fully recovered!
No animal deserves to be used as a pawn in relationship issues! And no animal should be left to starve to death, whatever the circumstances. We need to keep fighting for those without a voice like poor Champ. That is what Rescue Dogs Rock does day in and day out. Want to know more? Visit their Facebook page!
Update 9/28/20: Champ has been going on adventures and having the best time! He is also currently in the semi-finals of a contest to be featured in a magazine!
