Ellen DeGeneres, always an advocate for animals, has been making some extra admirable decisions as of late. The comedienne and talk show host helped spark an outspoken rally against trophy hunting, helping shed light on the global epidemic of poaching, particularly of elephants. She and her wife Portia de Rossi also donated a large sum of money to go towards saving the planet’s last mountain gorillas and started their own conservation center. And now the proud vegan is turning Hollywood’s A-list on to the Impossible Burger, the plant-based burger that “bleeds.”
At her recent 60th birthday celebration, DeGeneres served the Impossible Burger to her favorite stars, including Oprah, Kim and Kanye, Jennifer Lawrence, John Legend, and Chrissy Teigen. During an interview on The Ellen Show, Teigen describes herself as “pretty not vegan,” but that she thinks the Impossible Burger is “amazing” and even “more flavorful” than a beef burger.
It’s wonderful to see celebrities with such a large platform talking about plant-based proteins. According to Impossible Foods, their burger uses 75 percent less water, 95 percent less land, and produces 87 percent fewer greenhouse gas emissions than a traditional beef burger – how’s that for a smart choice!
Thank you, Ellen, for spreading your compassion for animals and changing minds for the better!

Ellen DeGeneres is a hypocrite. She claims to love animals but is no longer vegan. She sells a line of clothing using the skins and other body parts of other animals. She eats eggs. She works for Cover Girl who tests on animals. And the Impossible Burger is NOT vegan. It was tested on animals before it was commercially available. But I guess the slaughter of rats don\’t matter \’cause they\’re not cute enough?
Thanks! Surprised the lie that Ellen D. is vegan is still going around. You are very correct. Impossible Burger is the burger of shame.
Because meat is murder, we really need to keep pushing alternatives. Soon there will be real meat available that is grown in a lab and doesn\’t require pain, death, and suffering.
