Outspoken Animal Activist Ellen DeGeneres Gets a Gorilla Protection Center and Brand New Organization to Protect Endangered Animals for Her Birthday! (VIDEO)

They say “good things come in threes!” No statement has ever been truer when it came to Portia de Rossi’s recent birthday gift to her wife Ellen, who turned an astonishing 60 years old (she looks great!). The incredible moment was captured in a video on The Ellen Show’s YouTube channel.

The first surprise Portia had was her appearance on set with Ellen. Next, Portia presented her with the Ellen DeGeneres Center, a brand new part of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, which is dedicated to the protection and Conservation of the endangered Mountain Gorilla.

Ellen has been a fan of Dian Fossey’s work since she was young and this new center will help house gorillas and educate the public about their plight. The official launch of The Ellen De Generes Wildlife Fund was the third surprise.

This was definitely a long overdue and monumental moment considering all the work Ellen has already done on behalf of animals – donating 200,000 meals to shelter animals, standing up for elephants, and adopting a vegan lifestyle, just to name a few.
