In the backstreets of Bali, a unique creature emerged that seemed like a hyena, but was in fact a homeless dog named Hilary. Prue Barber, the founder of Mission Paws’ible, discovered Hilary during a building project and decided to help her, despite no one claiming ownership of this emaciated dog.

Although Hilary seemed scruffy, she was healthier than many of the 500 strays Barber had previously rescued. With regular oil massages, special shampoo treatments, a nutritious raw-food diet, and lots of love, Hilary began to transform. From a scared, skinny stray, Hilary emerged as a cheerful, sociable dog, warming the hearts of everyone around her.

After a few months of dedicated care, her coat grew back, and her personality shone. That’s when Jancis O’Mara from British Columbia, Canada, adopted Hilary, now renamed Tilly. Under O’Mara’s love and care, Tilly’s winter coat flourished, making her barely recognizable from the ‘hyena-looking’ stray Barber had initially found. Tilly now enjoys her peaceful life with her feline sibling, Kabuki, and her doting mom.

Tilly’s remarkable transformation underscores the impact of compassionate rescue initiatives. Support Mission Paws’ible in their effort to change more stray dogs’ lives in Bali. Every dog deserves a chance to transform from a stray into a loved pet.
