To regrow green onions from scraps, place the white bulbous part, with the roots still attached, in a pot of water and let it sit near a light source. Within the first 24 hours or so, you should see your onions start to grow! To ensure that they continue to grow, make sure to pour out the old water and refresh it with new tap water every 2-3 days.
Buying food that is locally grown from your farmer’s market or local grocer is a great way to minimize your environmental impact, but growing food at home takes it to the next level. By growing your food, even if you just start with a few crops, you are contributing to a healthier you and a healthier planet.
