After 11 years with the fossil fuel producer, Caroline Dennett, a senior safety consultant for Shell, quit and publicly exposed the destruction the company is bringing to the environment and the lies they tell to cover their tracks.

We know that climate change is a major problem and that fossil fuels contribute to Climate change. So it’s ludicrous to continue investing in extracting oil, especially when the drilling wreaks havoc on the environment and wildlife. As the NRDC states plainly, “Offshore drilling is basically a double blow to our oceans—increasing the risk of spills and Pollution in the marine environment while fueling Climate change impacts.”

President Biden has also repeatedly emphasized the dangers of Climate change, but recently, the administration has fallen backward in its efforts to prevent offshore drilling.

“They know that continued oil and gas extraction causes extreme harms to our climate, to our environment and to people. And whatever they say, Shell is simply not winding down on fossil fuels,” said Dennett.
