I was born in South London and studied at music college, then taught the clarinet before turning to full-time campaigning for factory-farmed animals. Over the years I’ve taken delight in watching ex-battery hens recover from their incarceration, at last able to act out their age-old behavioral patterns. I now live in Yorkshire with my musician husband; we have two daughters and four grandchildren, and I enjoy writing, gardening and walking our dogs.
