Recently, Romanian soccer players helped to encourage pet adoptions by holding up stray dogs before the start of their game. This was done as a part of the “Fill the gap in your life” campaign with local shelters and the Professional Football League in Romania.

The match between Fotbal Club FCSB and Dinamo Bucharest last Sunday marked the first time the Romanian players participated in the campaign. The initiative is supposed to continue throughout the season to continue to encourage pet adoptions among sports fans.

Each of the dogs wore name tags and a distinct scarf to make it easier for people to find them online. The pups are all vaccinated, dewormed, neutered, and spayed so that they are ready to be rehomed immediately. 11 dogs were already adopted, leaving 92 more still looking for their forever homes.

This is a wonderful campaign to help spread the word about adopting pets, especially since shelters are full of dogs and many people still buy from breeders.

Local shelters are hoping to get some of their dogs adopted as soon as possible through this campaign, making way for even more wonderful pets that need their forever home too.
