These are scary times for everyone around the world. We are living through a pandemic that is affecting everyone. Thousands of people are dying from COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus. We’re all doing our part to come together but there are also animals that need our help. With people social distancing and staying home as much as possible, adoption events at shelters are canceled and volunteers are unable to help at shelters and rescue centers. The animals need our help more than ever.

Queer Eye star Antoni Porowski recently decided to foster a puppy during this outbreak to have some company and help out his local shelter. Many shelters and rescue organizations are asking people to please consider doing this. One non-profit organization is even covering the costs for anyone who decides to foster a puppy during the coronavirus outbreak.

Miley Cyrus is the latest star to step up for the animals. She’s been hosting a live talk show on her Instagram account called Bright Minded on which she discussed why she and boyfriend Cody Simpson recently decided to adopt a dog. The precious puppy, named Bo, can be seen below.

Melissa Bacelar of The Wagmor Luxury Spa, Hotel & Rescue was a guest on the show and explained that “many families have had to surrender their pets  after losing jobs, wages or housing security, meaning there are many animals left in need. In addition, many shelters are closing because of strict orders for only essential businesses to operate have swept across the country.”

She and Cyrus encouraged others to help in this time of need. Consider fostering or adopting. You can also donate to rescue organizations or sponsor a rescue animal — the costs of keeping them in a rescue center increases the longer they spend there.
