We are living in strange times, where the way to stay connected is via technology and electronics and we are being told by our governments to stay home, self-isolate, and practice social distance. However, since most people are actually spending their time at home, it’s the perfect time to foster or adopt a pet. Not only does it decrease stress and increase happiness, but the animals and shelter workers need our help.
Queer Eye’s Antoni Porowski is doing just that! He will not be self-isolating alone, now that he has the company of Neon, a pit bull beagle mix. And he’s encouraging others to do the same!
In the adorable video shared to Austin Pets Alive! Instagram page (the shelter from where Antoni found Neon), he shares the wonderful message. He reminds people that shelters are having much less foot traffic due to the pandemic going on.
What’s even sweeter is he encourages people to foster or adopt pit bull mixes. Pit bulls were sadly and falsely given a bad reputation, when really any dog can be aggressive.
To anyone considering fostering or adopting, as Antoni says: “You can take them in for a week or two, or longer or shorter, and just give them the nice quality of life that they deserve.”
Now, Antoni is enjoying this time of self-isolation even more with the perfect company of a dog. Their adventures together can be seen in his Instagram stories!
