“Rescue” Under Fire After PETA Investigation Discovers Animals Suffering

A PETA undercover investigation has shed light on the distressing conditions faced by animals at Isaiah 11 Ministry, a self-proclaimed animal “rescue” in Kosciusko County. The investigation uncovered a shocking reality: animals left to endure open wounds, chronic illnesses, and severe infections without proper veterinary care.

Authorities in Kosciusko County have taken swift action in response to these findings, removing all animals from the facility and launching a criminal investigation into the owner, Linda Ozier. The severity of the neglect necessitated immediate intervention to ensure the welfare of the animals, which included birds, pigs, a goat, and even a donkey named Hosanna. Hosanna, found overweight with neglected hooves, was among those rescued by the local sheriff’s office.

The heart-wrenching details of PETA’s investigation reveal a pattern of neglect and indifference towards the suffering of animals. Ozier repeatedly failed to seek veterinary care for sick and injured animals, allowing their conditions to deteriorate. Even when alerted to the dire state of these animals, she neglected to take appropriate action. One particularly tragic case involved a cat named Pearl, whose condition was so severe that euthanasia was deemed the most compassionate option after days of intensive care.

Daphna Nachminovitch, PETA’s Senior Vice President, aptly summarized the situation as a “hoarder’s hellhole,” where sick, injured, and dying animals languished amidst squalor and neglect. This case underscores the urgent need for stricter regulations and oversight in the realm of animal rescue operations.

Sadly, the plight of animals at Isaiah 11 Ministry is not an isolated incident. Animal hoarding, disguised as rescue operations, is a nationwide crisis. These unregulated facilities subject animals to appalling conditions, denying them the care and compassion they deserve. Authorities must take decisive action against individuals who perpetrate such cruelty and ensure they are held accountable for their actions.
