A heartbreaking video posted by the Humane Society of Broward County shares the sad story of a dog named Grommett. Although the dog is only one year old, he looks much older due to the horrific abuse that he has suffered. However, Grommett has not given up hope that he will one day find a loving forever home.

Who would do this? 🥺 Grommett is only 1-years-old, but he looks like an old man 🥺 That’s because he has lived a life of abuse and neglect 💔 Grommett has been starved, his nails too overgrown to walk on and he has burns on his feet from standing in his own urine 😔 His distress was so bad that he chewed through his own paw pad 🙏💔 Thankfully, Grommett was confiscated by an officer and is now safe with us at our shelter. Grommett will only know love from now on ❤️ This sweet French Bulldog mix is not available for adoption yet, he is in a medical foster home receiving treatment, but he needs your help. Please share and consider donating to Grommett’s care through the link in our bio 🙏 Grommett is just one of the abandoned and abused pets that you are saving when you Support our shelter 🙏 The Humane Society of Broward County is proud to be able to provide lifesaving care and shelter to over 4,000 homeless pets every year ❤️ You can help improve the lives of ALL of the homeless animals at the Humane Society of Broward County by supporting our VCA Walk for the Animals, our biggest fundraiser of the year ❤️ The Walk allows us to continue to take in and care for homeless pets like Grommett. When rescuers removed Grommett from his previous placement, he was severely underweight. Indeed, the mixed-breed dog weighed only half of what he was supposed to. His nails were also so overgrown that they were preventing him from walking. Gut wrenchingly, his paws were also burned from standing in his own urine. It is believed that he was severely neglected and kept in a cage for the majority of his life.

Although Grommett is not yet available for adoption, the one-year-old dog is now safe with a foster family. They are focusing on helping the pup get healthy. Eventually, the shelter hopes to find him a loving home where the pup can receive all the love and comfort that he was previously denied.
