Well now, this is awesome! The Port Lavaca Police Department in Port Lavaca, Texas realized their office was missing something … or rather, someone. To help fill the empty space, the police department decided to adopt a cat from the Calhoun County Humane Society!

If you’re looking to add a feline to your family, please always adopt. Every year, six to eight million dogs and cats find themselves at animal shelters with 2.7 million being put down. Approximately 70 percent of the euthanized animals are cats. Heartbreakingly, many of these marked cats are healthy and able to be adopted. If you’re unable to adopt right now, consider fostering a cat. This will allow for more space at your local shelter, allowing them to save another animal in need. So cute how his lil paw is stretched out like wanting to touch!!!
Loved the story and the photo : ) Cat\’s are so curious and playful….my cat is always full of mischief.
And she loves our dog……a little more than our dog loves her, but they get along fine.
Anyway, loved the story and photo\’s…nice to see something pleasant on the internet regarding an animals instead of some random nut job, hurting and animal
Thanks for saving the Captain, I\’m sure she\’ll bring you a lot of love.
Be Well, Terry (Cambridge, MA)
I\’ve always had dogs, but for a few years I have a second cat (the first died, he was 17)
I really regret that I did not have a cat before. The cats are wonderful and very wise and bring a lot of good energy.
Regards, Police Department in Port Lavaca
