Buzz Petition

Another dog has died an agonizing death as the result of being left outside in freezing temperatures. It is a horrifying act of neglect which is why a new petition on the Care2 Petition platform is asking the Hartford, Connecticut Police to seek swift justice for this poor animal.

It was thanks to a call by a concerned local that this situation was even discovered and brought to light. The dog was found by investigation officers dead in his dog house on New Years Day. For anyone to even think it would be ok to leave any pet in those type of frigid conditions is heartbreaking. It’s hard to imagine what this innocent dog went through – cold, scared, and all alone, but we can demand justice by signing the petition so that this neglectful owner understands the magnitude of their actions.

You can also make a difference by reminding others of the many dangers that exist as temperatures plummet across much of the U.S. Please take the necessary precautions to ensure your pet’s safety from conditions such as frostbite and hypothermia. Some humans should really not have animals, and after sentecing / jail they should be registrated as to never being able to get another animal.

My recent conversation with an animal control officer in our area included my comment regarding having licensing and/or registration of prospective pet owners. There are too many people who acquire living animals and treat them as items of furniture foe the house or , worse yet yard decorations secured in all types of weather on wires, ropes or chains. I\'m in total support of felony conviction for animal abuse.

How many times do we have to say - if you can't treat your pets as part of the family, DON'T HAVE THEM. They are not expendable. They feel fear, pain, love. LOVE THEM! Don't kill them!!

I think it's Denmark that made it a law you can not leave an animal outside for more than 1 hour!
