First, shave off the outer layer of the stem, then cut the stem into thin slices. Toss them with a pinch of salt to draw out the water from the stem. After a bit, the stems should bend instead of snap. Then, thinly slice 1-2 cloves of garlic to your preference then finally squeeze out the excess water.
Next, you’ll add the garlic to the stems, followed by 3/4 tsp soy sauce, 1 tsp sesame oil, 1 tsp sugar, and 1 tsp white vinegar. Mix it all and let it sit for at least 15 minutes.
Try this next time you have a leftover broccoli stem!
