Demand for gelatin-free confections is on the rise, according to a newly released report.
The report from Transparency Market Research found that more consumers are opting to eat sweets that don’t contain gelatin, leading to a boom in demand for plant-based confections.
The report also found that producing confections without gelatin was less expensive for companies, replacing it with pectin and starch. Transparency Market Research found that while the largest increase in demand for gelatin-free confections came from North America and Europe, African and Asian markets were also seeing a growing demand for sweets made without gelatin.

The report forecasted further demand through 2025, citing an increase in vegetarian and vegan diets, along with consumers becoming more concerned about finding products that are eco-friendly.
