Petition: Delhi Air Pollution Is Making Breathing Deadly

For years, people in Delhi India have been forced to live under a toxic cloud of air Pollution. Each winter, so called Pollution season traps millions in smog so thick it burns the throat and lungs. Families stay indoors with air purifiers if they can. Others leave the city. Many have no choice but to breathe air that doctors warn is deeply dangerous to health.

Local residents have taken to the streets in protest, holding signs reading “Breathing Is Killing Us” and calling Delhi a death trap. Scientists measuring air quality index levels show Pollution spikes from October onward, sometimes reaching levels over one hundred times higher than what health experts consider safe. Doctors warn that Pollution is now a greater cause of death than diabetes in the city.
