We’ve come across plenty of surprising animal videos here at OGP. But here’s something you don’t see every day: a cat who actually appears to enjoy his bath time!
Meet Max-Arthur, the Texan snowshoe cat who loves nothing more than getting lathered up and stepping into the shower. His guardian, Helen, asks him to give her a loud “MEOW” when he wants the bath to be over, but that signal does not arrive until the video has run for well over three minutes.
But hold on, I hear you say – don’t cats hate water? Most of them do, but the rare snowshoe cat – Max Arthur’s breed – are renowned for their mysterious fascination with water, and many have been known to enjoy swimming. Another type of water-loving feline is the Turkish Van cat.
Be careful though, Green Monsters. Unless your cat is one of these rare water-loving varieties, don’t try this at home! The vast majority of felines prefer to keep their own fur clean by self-grooming. Some light brushing by their human companions, once or twice a week, might also be tolerated, but it very much depends on the individual cat’s preferences and temperament.
