At the time of her birth, Beyoncé weighed in at just one ounce – small enough to fit in a spoon! Now, at two weeks old, she is about the size of a business card.
Animal control picked up Beyoncé’s pregnant mother a few weeks ago, and she gave birth to a litter of five at the Grace Foundation on March 8. Beyoncé was the last pup delivered, and she was born without a heartbeat or regular breathing.
Veterinarians were able to get her heartbeat going using chest compressions, and Grace Foundation executive director Beth Decaprio even stepped in to give Beyoncé mouth-to-mouth resuscitation! Although Beyoncé wasn’t expected to survive long after birth, the tiny pup is thriving today and will be up for adoption in a few weeks.
The Grace Foundation has submitted an application to Guinness World Records for world’s smallest dog.
