This Incredible Man Left His Corporate Career to Give Adoptable Senior Shelter Pups Makeovers

Everybody enjoys a little primping – even senior shelter dogs. That’s why Mark Imhof, a former businessman, decided to give haircuts to older dogs with unkempt hair, in order to increase the likelihood that they would get adopted. When his fiancé saw how much joy Imhof got from interacting with animals, she encouraged him to opt out of getting another “soul-less job” and instead, give these pooches some amazing makeovers.

“Sean was my first shelter dog, and when they brought him to me, he was on the un-adoptable list because of behavior issues,” Imhof recalls. “Of course, I explain to people, if we were to mat your hair, and then ask you to do a job, you would probably have behavior issues, too.”

Now, Imhof visits Animal Care Center of NYC to give senior dogs a new ‘do.

“I have seen such transformations in almost all the dogs.”

“It is so uplifting and I KNOW they will pay that love forward to their future forever homes,” he explained.

Thanks to Imhof’s haircuts, these senior dogs may no longer be overlooked by adopters.
