Injured Senior Street Dog Had Nowhere to Go – So These People Stepped In (VIDEO)

Mateo, a senior dog living on the streets, desperately needed medical help – and, fortunately, he crossed paths with the Guardians of the Voiceless who immediately took care of him. While working in the streets, the rescuers noticed the large black dog running down the road in a rush. When they got near, they found out that he had a large wound in his ear, in urgent need of a treatment.

The Guardians went inside the house of one of the locals and were, fortunately, able to get hold of the dog. The homeowners recognized Mateo and said that he had lived on their street for a long time, coming and going as he pleased. They were concerned about him – and let the rescuers treat him inside their home.

Mateo’s wound was infected and full of maggots which had to be removed first one by one before the ear could be treated. The dog was also given painkillers and antibiotics. Afterwards, he was left to rest inside the kind people’s house until he felt better.

“Mateo is a very gentle old wise boy, we want nothing more than for him than to have peace for the rest of his life!” the rescuers wrote and assured that the sweet aged dog will be brought back to health.
