Animal cruelty exists in all corners of the world, even in India, where many citizens are vegetarian. U.S.-based rescue group Animal Aid Unlimited, which runs a shelter and hospital in Udaipur, Rajasthan India, found a homeless dog named Grace suffering with a wire tied through her mouth.
It’s unclear how the wire got there, but it prevented her from eating or drinking for days and cut deeply into the skin around her head. From the way it was tied, it seems that someone did it deliberately to torture the sweet dog. The injuries caused by the wire make the beginning of this video quite painful to watch.
Animal Aid found Grace just in time and mercifully cut the wire. The dog was understandably shy and exhausted for days, but at least she was in a comfortable place receiving the medical care she needed.
With time, her wounds healed and she grew to trust her caretakers. Now, she is running and playing on Animal Aid’s large sanctuary, never to endure cruelty again!
