In the U.S., many people consider their dogs more than just their pets, they think of them like family. We love to pamper and primp our pets and provide them with all the comforts available. But despite our love for our dog companions, the fact that there are some 70 million homeless animals roaming the streets.
Some of these animals were abandoned by their guardians and forced to fend for themselves while others were born into feral colonies, but sadly, the majority of these animals will never know a loving forever home.
The sweet Boxer in this video is a haunting example of what pet homelessness looks like in the U.S. According to World Animal Awareness Society, this dog was found living in an abandoned house in Detroit with a pack of other homeless pups.
All this sweet dog wants is someone to come and fill up his bowl, something so simple but equally heartbreaking to witness. There are so many homeless animals in need just waiting for their forever family in shelters. You can help end the pet homeless problem in the U.S. by always adopting and not shopping for a pet.
