Desperate Help Needed for Pit Bull Who Was Stabbed and Stuffed in a Suitcase

Around 1 a.m. on October 10th, police officers from Hollywood, Florida, found a cast-off suitcase at the back of an abandoned building. A dog’s paw was sticking out from inside and the officers heard the confined animal’s desperate cries. Immediately, they rushed the dog to VCA Hollywood Animal Hospital. The beautiful Pit Bull, now named Ollie, miraculously survived the abhorrent abuse – but now, he really needs help and a loving home to keep getting better.

Ollie was found in a dramatic condition – he had been beaten, stabbed multiple times, then stuffed inside the suitcase and left to die. He is not microchipped and was wearing a collar with no tag.

Ollie is now under the care of Grateful Paws Dog & Cat Rescue – he is looking for a foster home and has a GoFundMe page to help with the medical expenses.

What happened to this beautiful dog is unbelievable – but his prognosis is good and although the road to full recovery will be long, the team isn’t giving up.

In less than a day, Ollie received more Support and love than anyone could have imagined – thanks to hundreds of people, his crowdfunding goal was reached and far surpassed!

He had several surgeries and still needs to have a couple more – his wounds are deep, but the vets and carers hope that everything will go well, with no infections nor complications.

Once Ollie is released from the hospital, he will need a dedicated foster or forever home where he will be able to heal in a loving and calm environment. He is looking for a home in Broward County, accessible to the Hollywood Animal Hospital, since Grateful Paws will be responsible for his follow-up vet visits and medication. Sweet Ollie deserves a chance to have a normal and wonderful life and he does not dream of giving up – as the team writes, “his tail is still wagging!”
