Around 1 a.m. on October 10th, police officers from Hollywood, Florida, found a cast-off suitcase at the back of an abandoned building. A dog’s paw was sticking out from inside and the officers heard the confined animal’s desperate cries. Immediately, they rushed the dog to VCA Hollywood Animal Hospital. The beautiful Pit Bull, now named Ollie, miraculously survived the abhorrent abuse – but now, he really needs help and a loving home to keep getting better.
Ollie was found in a dramatic condition – he had been beaten, stabbed multiple times, then stuffed inside the suitcase and left to die. He is not microchipped and was wearing a collar with no tag.
Once Ollie is released from the hospital, he will need a dedicated foster or forever home where he will be able to heal in a loving and calm environment. He is looking for a home in Broward County, accessible to the Hollywood Animal Hospital, since Grateful Paws will be responsible for his follow-up vet visits and medication. Sweet Ollie deserves a chance to have a normal and wonderful life and he does not dream of giving up – as the team writes, “his tail is still wagging!”
Detectives working on this horrendous case are asking anyone with information concerning the abuse to call the Hollywood Police Department’s Detective Bureau at 954-967-4411. Tipsters can text or e-mail to hollywoodpdtips@hollywoodfl.org. Information can also be given to Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS or www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
You can Donate to Ollie’s medical care via his GoFundMe page.

I cannot believe the number of stories I read about abused animals . And this breed of dog seems to be at the top of the list.
I think Pit Bulls have taken a very bad rap. Just like ALL animals, Pit Bulls are also a creature of God and should be loved and well taken care of.
To those of you out there that abuse animals, how can you look at yourself in the mirror ?
