Just recently, we had the great pleasure of sharing the news about Gajraj the elephant’s rescue and move to the Elephant Conservation and Care Center.
Now, this beautiful elephant is already experiencing the little joys of his new happy life where he will be surrounded by respect and the best care possible. The summer heat is no joke, no less for animals than for us – but this elephant has nothing to fear in that department. The Wildlife SOS team is giving Gajraj a cool shower to make the high temperatures a little more bearable. And, judging from his reaction, he would certainly not mind if the shower lasted, say… the entire day.
It is a true joy to see Gajraj finally get such amazing care that goes far beyond the necessary. This poor animal spent over fifty years of his life in chains, his health was in bad condition and, lacking proper care and social interactions, he was exhibiting bad signs of zoochosis. But all that is in the past now. Gajraj is finally beginning the good happy life all elephants deserves – all-inclusive with every kind of pampering!
