We are so excited about this! Beyond Meat, makers of the juicy Beyond Burger are debuting a VEGAN SAUSAGE! Appropriately named the Beyond Sausage, Beyond Meat just this week begun testing the plant-based sausage at a Whole Foods in Boulder, Colorado.

The sausage has been in the works for about a year now but is really part of Beyond Meat’s overarching goal: to change the food industry. “This is part of the continuum for us. It’s really been a mantra for us that we want to relentlessly and rapidly innovate,” said Beyond Meat CEO, Ethan Brown.

“The first plant-based sausage to deliver the juicy, sizzling satisfaction of pork sausage, but with more protein, fewer calories, and less fat!” Beyond Meat shares on their Instagram. If Beyond Sausage is anything like the Beyond Burger, we know it’s going to be a success!

And why sausage? Brown says the company wanted to tackle pork sausage next because of consumers growing skepticism over processed foods. Beyond Meat’s strategy makes sense considering how more people than ever are reducing their meat consumption and opting for plant-based options instead. A recent report by global market research firm Mintel shows that more people than ever are open to trying meatless burgers, a trend that is being driven largely by Millennials; 64 percent have tried meatless burgers versus 28 percent of Baby Boomers.

We are living in a time where the food space is rapidly evolving. The Beyond Sausage is just one of the new innovations in the plant-based food space that is helping those who still crave the taste and texture of meat to cut back. Not only is Beyond Meat seeking to change the way Americans eat, they have their sights set on what may very well be a global food revolution.

If you’re wondering how you can get your hands on the vegan sausage, Beyond Meat says that the next stage of the products distribution will be announced in January of 2018. Stay tuned!
