The Pacific Islands Heritage Marine National Monument near Hawai‘i is one of the last truly wild and thriving ocean ecosystems in the U.S. This incredible marine world shelters endangered species, rare seabirds, and an abundance of sharks within some of the healthiest coral reefs on Earth. Yet the Trump administration is allegedly trying to roll back long-standing protections — risking irreversible damage to this vibrant ocean sanctuary.

Originally safeguarded by Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, the monument has flourished under fishing bans and federal Conservation rules. But Trump’s National Marine Fisheries Service allegedly attempted to weaken these safeguards without proper process — an effort a Hawai‘i court has since rebuked. Indigenous communities, scientists, and environmental advocates warn that continued political attacks could devastate marine biodiversity and erase generations of stewardship.

We must act now. Sign the petition to demand U.S. coastal states defend marine wildlife and strengthen ocean protections before it’s too late. Sign the petition now to help protect this vital ecosystem!
