Katherine Hanly, International Marine Mammal Project

Katherine Hanly works on expanding IMMP’s efforts to stop the exploitation of whales and dolphins by the captive industry, as well as pressing ahead with our thirty-year successful efforts for dolphin safe fishing methods. Katherine was part of IMMP’s extensive efforts to bring Keiko to Iceland. Katherine has worked for Bernie Sanders on the Hill, worked for the Environmental Investigation Agency on the marine environment, is the author of several reports on marine issues and has been a delegate to the International Whaling Commission for years. Since 1998, Katherine has lived and worked in Stockholm, Sweden where she was Executive Director of Animal Rights Sweden, Director of the Anna Lindh Memorial Fund and part of many other endeavors.
