A woman named Alex is being praised for her kindness after rescuing a senior cat left behind by his previous humans. The 12-year-old orange feline was spotted by Alex wandering the neighborhood, looking out of place. Recognizing that he wasn’t suited for outdoor life, she and her neighbors fed him for a week, only to learn that he had been abandoned when his previous humans moved away.
Alex decided to bring the cat, now named Red, into her home after confirming that the person linked to his microchip had no interest in reclaiming him. Despite the disappointment of the situation, Alex was determined to give Red the care and attention he deserved.
She shared the heartwarming rescue story on Reddit, where it quickly gained traction, receiving over 18,000 upvotes and hundreds of comments. Many people expressed disbelief at the previous owner’s decision to leave Red behind. Currently, Alex is slowly introducing Red to her other pets while awaiting his final vet check-up to ensure he’s healthy.
