83 Dogs and Cat Rescued from Cruel Breeding Operation in Baltimore

Last week, 83 dogs and one cat were rescued from an alleged breeding operation in North Baltimore, where they had been housed in small crates stacked on top of each other. The animals, including 60 adult dogs and nearly two dozen puppies listed for sale on social media for up to $1,500 each, were found covered in roaches and feces, and the air quality in the house was so poor that it was difficult to breathe for humans and animals.

Thanks to the efforts of the BARCS Animal Shelter and generous donations from the Greater Animal Welfare Community, nearly all of these animals have found new homes. About half were placed in foster homes, providing them with the care and attention they desperately needed. Despite this significant rescue, BARCS has since taken in another 241 animals, highlighting the ongoing need for Support.
