When this group of sailors set out for the day, they probably expected to see a lot of sunshine, maybe observe some marine life, and enjoy the simple wonders of being out on the water. What they likely didn’t expect, however, was to see a puppy struggling to stay afloat in the middle of the water!
While it is unknown how the dog ended up in this scary situation, it is a great thing for him that the boat he came across was filled with kind people who wanted to lend a hand. As soon as they identified the swimming object as a puppy – they started calling to him and managed to get him onto the boat’s deck in no time flat. The poor pooch was likely freezing and exhausted from paddling so long, but the people did all they could to warm him up and help calm him down.
We are so pleased to see that this story has a happy ending, but it also brings to light the importance of always keeping a close eye on your pets anytime you are near a body of water. Although dogs can swim, they aren’t designed to stay swimming for long, and you certainly wouldn’t want them to end up in a situation like this one!
