It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Robin Williams, a comedian that brought so much light and laughter to the world. We won’t forget Williams, or the many characters to which he gave life, that will live on forever. While Williams lent his voice to a number of animals that inspired all of us young Green Monsters to learn more about their real-life counterparts, what most people don’t know is that Williams was an animal lover himself.
In this video, Williams describes his rather incredible experience meeting Koko the gorilla, who is fluent in American sign language. Sitting in Ellen’s chair, Williams explains his encounter with this 800 pound gorilla in true comedic fashion. Explaining how his own “furriness” was what gained him favor with Koko, the events that ensued are sure to make you burst into laughter. As Williams tells Ellen, sharing laughter is a powerful thing, so go ahead and join in the fun.
