Watch a Rescued Pup Go From Emaciated and Hairless to Fluffy and Thriving! (VIDEO)

Madonna is a dog who was rescued in San Antonia and eventually wound up at an Abandoned Pet Project clinic. Shortly after, this rescue organization teamed up with VetRanch to tell the story of Madonna’s incredible transformation.

It was unclear how exactly Madonna made her way to the clinic, but it was very clear that she was in bad shape. When Dr. Wendy got to see her, she was emaciated, starving, and losing her fur. Dr. Wendy just smiled and said, “Let’s see if we can get her to look like a real dog, instead of a chupacabra.” Dr. Wendy’s words – not ours.

Dr. Wendy and her team at the clinic worked tirelessly to get Madonna healthy again and, after many weeks of tender care, the pup gained back the weight she lost and she grew back her fur. Dr. Wendy and her team were ecstatic, but they didn’t take much time to celebrate because they have so many other animals to care for! After all, the real victory will be when this sweet girl finds her forever home.
